Do you buckle up your child before you drive away? Every time? Can you even think of a time you didn’t?
Well, it seems that more and more parents may not be buckling their children in every single time they drive the car. For many reasons – thinking they don’t need to because it’s not a far drive, thinking the child needs to lay down to sleep for a long ride or maybe they want to give their child the “reward” of not getting buckled in.
This week is National Child Passenger Safety Week, September 15-21. As a part of this week, Kate Carr, President and CEO of Safe Kids Worldwide is talking about a survey they released regarding child safety in cars. This report stated that 25% or one out of every four parents may be driving without their child buckled in.
Listen to Kate talk to Family First’s Marijo Tinlin about the findings of the study and more about proper installation of a car seat and how to find a place that will help parents with this very important job.
